Family has always been the cornerstone of success for the Winger Company. Founded in 1942, and now in its fourth generation, the company has grown to be one of Iowa’s leader in mechanical construction industry.
The company began as equipment manufacturers and quickly added the growing field of power plant construction and manufacturing, stretching its market to North Dakota, Nebraska, Wyoming, Missouri and Kansas.
As the eyes of the nation turned toward the Cold War and continued with the birth of the space age, Winger kept pace by constructing and installing the propellant skids for the Atlas, Titan and Minute Man missile systems. This work paired them with clients such as Kennedy Space Center and the U.S. Government.
The seventies brought the struggle of the energy crisis as conservation became the ultimate goal of the county. Winger turned its emphasis to the field of agriculture and grain processing. The arrival of the eighties brought new industry to the company with the addition of sheet metal and millwright services. The new millennium brought us additional services such as data technology and fire sprinkler systems.
